It’s perfectly sensible and normal to make sure you gel with an editor before embarking on an involved relationship with them and your manuscript.
If you’re interested in working together, you can send me the first chapter of your manuscript (up to 4000 words), tell me a bit about your story and what you’re looking for in an editor, and I’ll get to work on a sample edit no strings attached. If we gel, let’s work together! If not, no worries.
Developmental Editing
An in-depth assessment of your story’s strengths and weaknesses, focusing on the big-picture elements (holistic advice on plot, character, structure, pacing, and setting). I’ll look to highlight your best moments and give guidance on improving sections that need extra work. You’ll receive an annotated manuscript and an editorial report you can use as a revision plan for your next draft.

Line Editing
An in-depth line edit with highly detailed margin notes in your manuscript focusing on the sentence level. Includes advice on sentence structure and word choice, as well as identifying any awkward language, cutting out redundancies and making your manuscript sharper. We’ll talk about your style and focus on honing your prose, improving readability, and bringing out your unique authorial voice.
